Panthers unveil 2022-23 leadership group

The Port Moody Panthers announced Saturday their 2022-23 leadership group, led by Daniel Dallapace, who enters his second season as the team’s captain. Jack Graham and Ryden Mathieson will serve as alternate captains. A third alternate may be named later in the season.

Dallapace, 20, was an alternate captain for the Panthers to start the 2021-22 season and was promoted to captain following the trading of Jayson Beauregard in December 2021. The Burnaby product appeared in 39 games last season with the Panthers and registered a career-high in all three offensive categories with seven goals, 17 assists, and 24 points.

Among defenders, his 40 career points are currently tied for 10th all-time in Panthers franchise history and his 100 career games currently have him placed ninth overall all-time.

Graham, 19, missed all but eight games of the 2021-22 season due to an injury. In those eight games, the Burnaby native totaled a goal and six assists. He was also an affiliate player for the Panthers in 2020-21 but didn’t appear in any games. He has a goal and two assists in three games thus far this season.

Mathieson, 18, posted 10 goals and 17 assists in 40 games with the White Rock Whalers last season. He added five points in 17 Stonehouse Cup playoff games. The Langley product was with the Whalers during the COVID-shortened 2020-21 season, getting into one game in a four-team cohort. He’s notched two goals and two assists in a pair of games this season.
